I am in eighth grade History, and I am writing a paper on how America and the world work with the stock market, and quite frankly, I have no clue. Please help me out. It will be much appreciated. People put up capital and use a reasonable amount of risk in the hopes for a gain. Americans will invest in foreign stock markets with the hopes of higher returns and more diversification, as they do with our markets. Answered by $so fresh so clean$ (3 for 3) - Mon Feb 16 18:55:25 2009 Why is America's population centered close to our borders with other countries?
Q. For example, Boston, New York City, Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Minneapolis, Chicago and Seattle are all within a few hours drive of the Canadian border. Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Houston and Dallas are all relatively close to the Mexican border. Is there a reason for this, or is this just the way it happened? Or maybe Middle America is just a crummy place to live? Asked by Smouse28 - Sat Oct 27 09:03:14 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Most of the cities you state are near oceans or large bodies(great lakes) of water. Most of the big cities developed as ports for trade and commerce. Factories and now large corporations became more prevalent and so more people could could work in less land. In middle America is far away form the rest of the world geographically and so less cities were made. The fact that cities pop up near other countries can be for the most part attributed to the fact that these places are near water.
